Beginner/Intermediate Acro & Jazz

Requirement: soft dance clothes (close-fitting), jazz shoes or foot undies or acro socks or bare feet. Students encouraged to bring/purchase their own portable, personal acro mat. Hair must be pulled off the face. An introduction to acro dance stretch, strength, and tumbling, as well as intermediate jazz dance steps, technique, terminology, combinations and choreography. Jazz dance is a fun style that first emerged with the jazz age of music--A technical style that combines modern pop culture with both jazz soul and Broadway theatrical styles. In this class, we combine jazz with floor intermediate acrobatic skills like forward rolls, handstands, cartwheels, and trampoline! We also play fun dance exploration games! Dance Recital: May 17-19. Dress Rehearsal: May 15.
