Adult Modern
Monday, 12/09/2019 | 07:45PM-09:00PM
BDC Faculty Christiana Axelsen
The class is based in Cunningham Technique, a traditional form of modern dance developed by iconic choreographer Merce Cunningham, that Christiana discovered as a pathway to strengthen and develop greater articulation in her back after a lower back injury. This class is fantastic for people of all backgrounds and abilities to grow their technical skills by finding ease and alignment in their bodies. We use simple but challenging exercises to play with rhythm, dynamics and patterning. This class is based in the belief that everyone is a dancer. Required classroom attire is something that you can freely move in and that makes you feel fantastic and excited to dance - leggings or athletic pants and a t-shirt or tank top would be great. This class is barefoot but feel free to bring socks if you need extra warmth or padding.
