In Introduction to Modern, dancers will explore the fundamentals of modern dance including rhythm, coordination, floorwork, flexibility and dynamic movement. This class encourages self-expression, imagination, and teamwork, making it the perfect introduction to dance. No previous dance experience is required.
Modern dance was developed in the early 20th century by influential American choreographers including Martha Graham, José Limón, Merce Cunningham, and Alvin Ailey. It continues to evolve and often blends with contemporary dance, making it a versatile and expressive art form practiced around the world.
