8 Week session at Ms Lam Montessori School, 2 North 5th St in Williamsburg. Children's Division, Age 3-4. In these classes children study the fundamentals of classical ballet technique. They practice the 5 positions of the feet and arms, a dancer’s correct posture, finger positions, pliés, tendus, chassés, early jumps, basic coordinations and musical phrasing. Children learn the names of the great composers: Tchaikovsky, Stravinsky, Minkus and more while they’ll study the stories of the great classical ballets (Sleeping Beauty, Nutcracker, Swan Lake etc). Using their ballet vocabulary, they act out scenes from the ballets while listening to the original orchestrated music.
