Fall 2022: Petit Ballet + Tap (II)

PETIT BALLET + TAP (II) • Approximate Age Range: 6-7+ • Approximate Grade School Level: First-Second Grade • RAD Equivalent: Grade 1 / Grade 2 • UNIFORM: • Solid Black Leotard (any style) • Pink Tights (footed or footless) • Bullet Pointe Pull-On Skirt (color: BALLET PINK or BLACK) • Ballet Slippers (labeled with student's name) • Tap Shoes (labeled with student's name) • Very Neat Bun or Braid (hair pulled away from the face) • Water Bottle (water only; please no sports drinks or juice) • Petit II builds upon the developmental concepts of SOTD Petit I classes. • Our Petit II Syllabus adheres to, and supplements The Royal Academy of Dance Primary and Grade 1/2 Syllabi. • This course of study is intended to promote and encourage enjoyment of movement as a form of physical activity and to increase a dancer's ability to demonstrate coordination, control, and accuracy in a range of sequences. • Petit II is designed to encourage students to explore their imagination while nurturing their physical skills, stamina, group awareness, and musicality using a range of musical styles and rhythmic patterns. • Dancers will begin recognizing spatial awareness of the body in traveling movements and turning actions. • This strong foundation prepares students for a successful transition to our Demi Ballet classes (RAD Grade 2/3).
