Fall 2022: Petit Ballet + Tap (I)

PETIT BALLET + TAP (I) • Approximate Age Range: 5-6+ • Approximate Grade School Level: Kindergarten-First Grade • RAD Syllabus Equivalent: Primary / Grade 1 UNIFORM: • Solid Black Leotard (any style) • Pink Tights (footed or footless) • Bullet Pointe Pull-On Skirt (color: LILAC or BLACK) • Ballet Slippers (labeled with student's name) • Tap Shoes (labeled with student's name) • Very Neat Bun or Braid (hair pulled away from the face) • Water Bottle (water only; please no sports drinks or juice) • Petit I builds upon the developmental concepts of SOTD Twinkles Workshop classes. • Our Petit I Syllabus adheres to, and supplements The Royal Academy of Dance Primary and Grade 1 Syllabi. • This course of study is intended to promote and encourage enjoyment of movement as a form of physical activity and to aid the development of a general appreciation of music. • Petit I is designed to encourage students to explore their imagination; gently guiding them into the discipline of Classical Ballet while nurturing their physical skills, stamina, group awareness, and musicality using a range of musical styles and rhythmic patterns. • This strong foundation prepares students for a successful transition to our Petit II classes (RAD Grade 1/2) and our Demi Ballet classes (RAD Grade 2/3).
