Modern Dance started in the early 20th Century in America and Europe as a rebellion against classical ballet. This form of dance is barefoot and often includes a more dynamic use of the torso (compared to classical ballet), and movements that roll and glide along the floor.
Modern III is a class designed for students who have taken at least one year of Modern I/II and or Ballet I/II. Students at Level III must take three classes a week (2 ballet + 1 modern). Required classroom attire is a black leotard with black tights, or a black t-shirt with black athletic pants, with long hair pulled back in a clean, high ponytail. Students who are new to BDC should contact [email protected] to discuss proper placement.
Dancers will share what they have learned at the end of the year performance June 25-29, 2019.
