**Discounted price offered till March 30th** Classical Ballet & Swan Lake: Students will have classical ballet technique classes everyday that will culminate in a performance of Swan Lake. In preparation for Swan Lake they will learn the story and about the life of the composer P.I. Tchaikovsky. They will participate in the set and costume creations for the performance. Thus giving them a comprehensive creative experience. Performance: A performance of Swan Lake including all students will take place on Friday July 19th at 5:30pm. French Immersion: French has a natural connection with classical ballet, as ballet as we know it was created and codified in France. Which is why, you can study ballet in any country in the world: China, Russia, England and so on and all of the steps are still called by their French names. Appropriate for francophone and anglophone students the French portion of the day will be led by language teachers whose first language is French. Students will have French language and conversation classes and they will be taught the story of Swan Lake in French. Activities pertaining to the show such as set design will also be conducted in French. Costume Making: A big part of the transformative magic of ballet comes when the dancer steps into a costume and becomes a character from another world, another time, another land. Costume design and creation is a high art form in and of itself and a beautiful well done costume elevates the dancer and the dance. Students will study the basics of sewing, costume design and creation. Age 7+ will have their lessons on sewing machines, age 4-6 will do everything by hand.
