Aerial will develop a student’s flexibility, fitness, and muscular endurance through an introduction to the exciting art of aerial silks. The class begins with warm up and strengthening exercises then moves to stretching and dance movement/vocabulary. Students will learn safety, proper body form, and vocabulary on aerial silks or the lyra. Basic to more advanced skills will be taught, such as wrist locks, foot locks, and basic wraps while in the air. Aerial is empowering, fun, and builds important skills like concentration, coordination, teamwork, and confidence.
